there is a big line of storms off to the west. and this appears to be a circulation that has developed within that line which is not uncommon. the cell that we've been watching prior to this have been what we call super cell thunderstorms. these are sort of lone wolf storms that develop rotation within them. and from that rotation comes the tornado. we've seen many reports of tornadoes already today in dallas-ft. worth. now those storms are traveling to the north side of dallas and ft. worth. a brand new tornado warning with the line of storms that is now coming across the east side of ft. worth. along the leading edge of that line. there may well be circulation of that tornado and that will cut across possibly the northwest side of the dallas metro. so getting toward the 35 east corridor. this tornado threat continues. in addition to that, you've got these tremendous deep red cores. when you see that deep red color, what that is is the radar picking up a very high reflectivity. there are only certain things that will give that yo

that's what you need to get the big updrafts. the tremendous thunderstorms that then begin to rotate when you get enough sheer in the atmosphere. we do have a radar picture showing you the storm that is now moving toward arlington. there is a tornado warning in effect for arlington. we think that storm could be coming into arlington at about 1:40. right about now. the storm should be getting very close to arlington. and there is definitely what we call a hook echo on the radar picture here. we are seeing evidence of rotation as we look inside that storm. so heads up in arlington. now, looking at the other storm, farther east. this is the one south and east of dallas. you see there is still a hook echo here. this is the area with the circulation. you notice it is very close to i-20 and 45 now near huxins. last time we looked at the visuals there. the live pictures. we saw that -- >> let me get to you hang on for one second. i deeply apologize. i want to show our audience some of the video we're seeing of semis damaged as a result

so american airlines, the hub, of course, at dfw, has a big problem on its hands. the only other thing i would add, dylan, we are used to reporting these storms moving at forward speeds of 40 to 60 miles an hour during tornado season. that's the bad news here. these upper level winds are kind of pokey and these storms have only been moving across the landscape at about 25 miles an hour. in the military they call that time over target, and that has added to the damage we're seeing. it hit some of the nicer suburbs of dallas, texas. arlington, texas was in the bull's eye a few moments ago, so it's going to take a while. this kind of curtain comes down any time there's been a tornado. while th -- while they go to work saving lives and property and then you get a count of neighbors and then you get hard information. it was hours before we knew how hard hit tuscaloosa was hit, for example. these storms don't seem to be of the same caliber. >> thank you very much, brian, for the reporting. i want to turn our attention to the local political community. joining us on the p
